The Federation Council talked about a new method of fraud in the housing and communal services sector

Fraudsters began to deceive Russians, pretending to be representatives of public utilities, and extort access codes to "Public Services" and banking applications from them. This was announced on March 8 by Artem Sheikin, Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy at the Federation Council.

"People are used to announcements about scheduled work, water or electricity outages, and meter checks. <...> This is what the attackers use, disguising an attempt to steal digital data to take care of the safety of the residents of the houses," the parliamentarian said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
