It is expected that a meeting of the council of experts to elect a new supreme leader of Iran may take place in the coming days. This was announced on March 7 by Ayatollah Hossein Mozaffari, a member of the Council of Experts.
"The members of the council of experts are looking forward to the conditions for holding a meeting, discussing and electing a new supreme leader and successor to the martyr Imam [Ali Khamenei] <...> We hope that, with God's help, this will happen in the next 24 hours," the Fars news agency quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.
