Two parishioners of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) were killed in an attack by Islamic terrorists on the Christian village of Turan (Benue State) in Nigeria. This was announced on March 7 by the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in the Telegram channel.

"Two of the dead, John Akule and Daniel Akhemba, were members of the community of the Russian Orthodox Church operating in this village. These are the first African parishioners of the Russian Orthodox Church who were killed for their faith," the publication says.
