WP pointed to possible US preparations for a ground operation in Iran

The cancellation of major exercises by the elite 82nd Brigade of the US Army may indicate the imminent deployment of the brigade to Iran. This was reported on March 6 by the American newspaper The Washington Post (WP).

"In recent days, the army has suddenly canceled major exercises of the headquarters unit of the elite amphibious detachment, which fueled rumors in the Ministry of War about the possible deployment of soldiers specializing in ground combat operations and a number of other tasks to the Middle East as the conflict with Iran escalates," the publication says.
