- Great Britain has recognized the presence of workshops in Ukraine for the repair of military equipment
On March 7, the British Ministry of Defense officially confirmed the deployment of four military equipment repair and maintenance enterprises in Ukraine.
"For the first time, the United Kingdom has provided information about its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) centers in Ukraine, four of which have already been commissioned, and the fifth is planned to open," the government's website says.
It is specified that these centers operate under contracts from the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom and are managed by British specialists. They are engaged in the repair of armored vehicles, including CVR-T armored vehicles donated by Great Britain, as well as the repair of Husky support vehicles, L119 light guns and Soviet-era equipment.
On February 22, British Defense Minister John Healey announced London's readiness to send a military contingent to the territory of Ukraine. Healy also said that Europe allegedly needs a strong Ukraine, and sending European troops to the territory controlled by Kiev would, in his words, mean the beginning of negotiations on a peaceful settlement.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 4 that the deployment of troops of the "coalition of the willing" in Ukraine after a potential peace agreement was unacceptable to Russia. She also stressed that the "unrestrained expansion" of NATO to the east, including Ukraine, is one of the key causes of the current conflict.
