In Moscow, the fleet of equipment for radiation diagnostics in polyclinics has grown by 20% over the past six years. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, noting that the volume of radiation research has more than doubled.

Such results were achieved "due to the large-scale renovation of old medical equipment and the purchase of additional modern devices," the mayor wrote in his channel in the MAX.

In total, 242 mammographs were delivered to city polyclinics — their number increased to 251 units, and the number of studies increased by almost 4.7 times; 648 X—ray machines - now there are 683 units, and there are 2.4 times more studies. The number of MRI machines increased to 47 units (the volume of studies increased by 62%), the number of CT machines increased to 55 units.

The equipment supplied to the clinics is connected to the unified radiological information service EMIAS. "This made it possible to create a centralized database for storing research," Sobyanin stressed. "After the introduction of remote image analysis using AI services, the speed and quality of radiation image processing by radiologists at the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine have also increased."

In February, the mayor announced that the volume of transplant operations performed in the capital over the past five years has more than doubled — 859 such manipulations were performed last year, 428 in 2020. "Now Muscovites receive vital treatment much faster. So, liver transplantation is expected for about 5 months, and kidneys — no more than a year. In other countries, this process can take from 3 to 5 years," Sobyanin stressed, noting that such a pace of development of the industry was the result of "tremendous comprehensive work on the development of urban medicine."

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
