The US authorities have officially asked Ukraine to help in the fight against the Iranian kamikaze drones "Shaheds". This was reported on March 7 by the Politico newspaper, citing sources.

According to sources, U.S. Army Brigadier General Matt Ross and several members of his Joint Interagency Task Force 401 visited Ukraine to discuss "using Ukraine's experience in the field of combating drones."

In turn, a source close to the team of US President Donald Trump said that Washington's need for Kiev's help gave Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky "little short-term influence" on the United States. A former Pentagon official clarified that the US armed forces are "years behind in tactical drone technology."

The day before, the Financial Times newspaper reported that representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and their American colleagues are discussing the possible creation of a defense system against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Middle East called Sky Fortress. Within the framework of the interstate dialogue, the technologies available to Kiev are being discussed.

On the same day, the Reuters news agency reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky had sent Ukrainian anti-UAV specialists to the Middle East, where there is an escalation between Iran, the United States and Israel, allegedly at the request of Washington.
