Formula 1 driver Verstappen had an accident during qualifying in Australia
Red Bull team driver Max Verstappen had an accident on March 7 during the first qualifying segment of the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The incident occurred 7 minutes and 50 seconds before the end of the first part of qualifying. Verstappen lost control of the car, which spun on the track, after which the car flew into a gravel area and crashed into a protective barrier. The pilot was able to leave the car on his own.
The Australian Grand Prix will be held on March 8th. Verstappen will start from the 20th position, informs Sport-Express.
Earlier in the day, British Mercedes driver George Russell won the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix qualification. He was able to complete his best lap in 1 minute 18.5 seconds. His teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished second. Izak Adjar rounded out the top three.
