The State Duma announced a change in the rules for assigning child allowances
Starting in 2027, foreigners will be able to apply for a single allowance only five years after obtaining Russian citizenship. This was announced on March 7 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.
"The legislation has been adjusted regarding the introduction of a residency qualification for receiving social child benefits. <...> Starting next year, from April 2027, there will be a mandatory requirement — five years of Russian citizenship," the deputy said in an interview with TASS.
