By March 8, as on other holidays, scammers activate old schemes, supplementing them with new tricks. This was announced on March 7 by Sergey Gavrilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property, Land and Property Relations, to the Prime agency.

"The most common scenario is based around the delivery of a bouquet or gift. They call or write to a person on behalf of the courier, inform them about the order, and then ask them to name the code from the SMS, ostensibly to confirm delivery or clarify the address. In practice, such a code can open access to a banking application, personal account, or money transfer," he warned.
