Private Dunaev helped destroy the Ukrainian Armed Forces mortar crew

Senior gunner Private Vladimir Dunaev was conducting reconnaissance of the area using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) when the position of his crew was discovered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the special military operation zone on March 7.

The enemy began shelling the positions of the Russian military. Despite the danger, Dunaev continued his reconnaissance and managed to detect an enemy mortar crew. After handing over the coordinates of the target to the Russian gunners, Dunaev continued to control the drone in order to adjust the firing. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces mortar crew was destroyed, and the Russian assault groups successfully occupied the enemy stronghold.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courage of Corporal Denis Ignatkov, who, as a senior gunner, participated in a clash with the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of an artillery crew.

During the battle, the firing squad was detected by an enemy reconnaissance UAV. Shortly after, Ukrainian attack drones headed for the position. Ignatkov provided cover for the crew during the change of position: he shot down an APU drone, and it did not harm the Russian gunners.

On March 4, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation told how Private Yevgeny Sinitsyn, at the electronic warfare (EW) post, defended the site from UAV attacks when the AFU FPV drone hit the wire that ensures the electronic warfare system.
