Three residents of the Kursk region, whom Ukraine had previously held hostage, returned to Russia in exchange. Alexander Khinshtein, the governor of the Kursk region, told about this on March 6 in the Telegram channel.

One of those released was Mikhail, a 25-year-old resident of the village of Kazachya Loknya. Two women will also return to the country. They were exchanged for a Ukrainian citizen convicted of a criminal offense.

"The Ukrainian side appealed to Belarus to exchange a Ukrainian woman who was serving a sentence for a criminal offense. On behalf of the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko, she was exchanged for two residents of the Sudzhansky district — grandmothers and granddaughters aged 85 and 42," Khinstein said.
