Moscow has approved the regulations for the interaction of city services for the period of spring floods. This was announced on Friday, March 6, by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.

According to him, preparations have already begun: snow reserves are being monitored, reservoirs, waterworks and other engineering facilities are being prepared. Currently, the flood situation in Moscow remains stable, and there is no increase in water levels.

He noted that in order to coordinate the work, the regulations for cooperation between Mosvodokanal, the Moscow Canal and Gormost were signed, as well as agreements with the Department of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations and the Moscow Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The documents define the areas of responsibility of the services, the algorithm of actions and the round-the-clock exchange of information on the hydrological situation, the Moscow City News agency reports.

According to the regulations, the Moscow Canal must ensure the passage of meltwater through the Karamyshevskaya and Perervinskaya dams in order to avoid flooding of coastal areas. Biryukov recalled that the capital's water supply is provided by 15 reservoirs of the Moskvoretsko-Vazuzskaya and Volzhskaya systems in the Moscow, Smolensk and Tver regions, Moscow 24 notes.
