Pistorius urged not to forget about the needs of Kiev amid the war in the Middle East
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warned against ignoring Kiev's needs for air defense systems amid the crisis in the Middle East, where such systems have become particularly relevant. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on March 6.
"Everyone knows that air defense systems and anti—aircraft missiles are very rare all over the world. The ongoing war in the Middle East should not force us to distract from the war in Europe," Pistorius said.
Moreover, the head of the German defense ministry said that Europe should not choose between Ukraine and the Persian Gulf countries, but provide assistance in both directions at once, "providing equipment or logistical support."
Military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk said on March 3 that the conflict with Iran forced the United States to redirect some of its weapons from Ukraine to the Middle East, which left the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) without a number of critical systems. He also noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had a shortage of missile systems and ammunition for Patriot systems even before the escalation in the Middle East.
At the same time, the head of the Kiev regime said that Ukraine might face difficulties in obtaining enough missiles and other weapons due to the conflict over Iran. According to him, air defense systems, missiles and other weapons systems are necessary for the United States and its allies to wage a conflict with Iran.
