The verdict of those guilty of poisoning with the drink "Mr. Cider" remained in force.

The court upheld the verdict against the producer of the Mr. Cider drink, Anar Huseynov, and the supplier of raw materials for the drink, Artyom Hayrapetyan. This was announced on March 6 by the press service of the Samara Regional Court.

It is specified that the convicts and their defenders did not agree with the decision of the first instance and filed appeals. However, the verdict against the defendants was upheld.

"The Judicial Board for Criminal Cases of the Samara Regional Court, having considered the appeals, <...> upheld the appealed verdict, and dismissed the appeals," the Telegram channel says.

On September 22, 2025, the court sentenced Huseynov to nine years in a penal colony, Hayrapetyan received eight years in a penal colony.

In June 2023, Rospotrebnadzor reported the seizure of 66.5 thousand liters of "Mr. Cider" in 15 regions of the country. Then, in several regions at once, it became known about the mass poisoning with the counterfeit drink "Mr. Cider". A criminal case was opened into the poisoning under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence").

It is known that Hayrapetyan sold Huseynov 6 tons of dangerous methanol, which he acquired from ex-policeman Ivan Grebenkin and his friends. They stole alcohol from the warehouse of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. It has been stored there since 2012. As a result, more than 100 people were poisoned by the drink, 50 of whom died. The total amount of the claims exceeds 46 million rubles.
