Politico learned about Poland's forecasts for the supply of American weapons
The Polish authorities believe that the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East may lead to delays in the supply of American weapons to European allies. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on March 6.
"The American industry will focus on replenishing stocks used in the Middle East. <...> We expect some delays in deliveries," the newspaper quoted Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh as saying.
According to him, the United States and the Persian Gulf countries are actively using Patriot PAC-2 and Patriot PAC-3 interceptor missiles to repel Iranian attacks, which could lead to a reduction in American stocks and a redistribution of production capacity.
European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius also warned that Washington may not be able to simultaneously meet the needs of the Persian Gulf countries, Ukraine and its own army.
"This makes it even more important for Europeans to increase their own production capacities," the article says.
The day before, ABC News announced that the stocks of missiles for the US THAAD missile defense systems to fight Iran could expire in a few weeks if the fighting continues. It was noted that the conflict is turning into a "war of attrition," where the question is which country will run out of missiles and other weapons first.
