Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. From February 28 to March 6, in response to terrorist attacks by Ukraine on civilian targets in Russia, the Russian Armed Forces carried out seven group strikes, which hit energy facilities that support the work of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, transport, airfield and port infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), railway trains. with weapons and military equipment, ammunition depots, places of production, storage and preparation for the launch of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries.

Units of the North group of forces established control over the settlements of Neskuchnoye, Krugloye, Kharkiv region, and Bobylivka, Sumy region, and hit the manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy lost more than 1,500 people, nine tanks and armored fighting vehicles, 124 vehicles, nine field artillery guns, seven electronic warfare stations, 56 ammunition depots, fuel and materiel.

The military personnel of the Zapad group of forces liberated the settlements of Drobyshevo, Yarovaya and Sosnovo. The manpower and equipment of five mechanized, assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a defense brigade and two National Guard brigades were defeated. The Ukrainian formations lost over 1,280 soldiers, 24 armored combat vehicles, 139 vehicles, 21 field artillery guns, five electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations, as well as 23 ammunition depots.

As a result of active offensive actions, the southern group of troops liberated Reznikovka in the DPR and hit the formations of six mechanized, motorized infantry, airmobile, assault, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades. More than 1,035 militants, two tanks, and 27 armored combat vehicles, including six Western-made, were destroyed. 102 vehicles, 18 field artillery guns, 11 electronic and counter-battery warfare stations, 41 ammunition depots, fuel and materiel were hit.

The Center group of troops advanced into the depth of the enemy's defense and defeated the enemy's manpower and equipment. In this area, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 2,425 people, five tanks, 52 armored combat vehicles, 83 vehicles, 14 field artillery guns, nine electronic warfare stations, eight ammunition and fuel depots.

The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to develop their offensive and decisively liberated the village of Gorky in the Zaporizhia region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed formations in the area of responsibility of the group of forces amounted to more than 2,185 soldiers, 26 armored combat vehicles, 53 vehicles and seven artillery pieces. Three electronic warfare stations, five ammunition and materiel depots were destroyed.

As a result of the coordinated actions of the units of the Dnepr group of forces, the village of Veselyanka in the Zaporizhia region was liberated. The formations of two mechanized, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade were defeated. In this area, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 375 militants, four armored combat vehicles, 87 vehicles, three field artillery guns, 18 electronic warfare stations, and 20 ammunition and materiel depots.

Over the past week, seven multiple launch rocket systems, including a US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket launcher and three Czech-made Vampire multiple launch rocket vehicles, have been destroyed by unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Air defense systems shot down 62 guided aerial bombs, 22 HIMARS MLRS rockets, 2 Neptune long-range guided missiles, a Flamingo long-range cruise missile and 2,154 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed eight unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 119960 unmanned aerial vehicles, 651 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2,8060 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,681 multiple rocket launchers, 33654 field artillery and mortars, 55999 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
