Hungary will not succumb to blackmail, will not let Ukraine into the European Union (EU) and will not send her money. On March 6, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban commented on the threats of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

"We will not give money to Ukrainians that they successfully extort from other EU countries, we will not pay and we will not allow Ukraine to join the EU," he said on Kossuth Radio.

Orban noted that Ukraine's accession to the EU would destroy the whole of Hungary and the entire Hungarian economy. He added that this is why Hungary should not "hypocritically" accept all of Ukraine's demands, even if the Kiev regime threatens them with blackmail and more serious consequences.

Zelensky said on March 5 that the restoration of the Druzhba oil pipeline is technically possible within a month and a half, but this will happen only if European countries find ways to unlock a loan of €90 billion for Ukraine.

At the same time, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Zelensky's threats against Orban were a good example of Ukrainian "culture." Peter Magyar, the leader of the Hungarian opposition Tisa party, said that Zelensky should explain himself after recent threats to the politician.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Kiev's direct threats against Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, sarcastically replied that NATO, of which Budapest is a member, "it's time to apply Article 5," which guarantees collective protection against the aggressor.
