The IRIB State Television and Radio company reported on March 5 that Iran's air defense forces allegedly shot down an American F-15 fighter jet near the city of Basra in southern Iraq.

"Air defense systems hit an F-15 fighter jet over Basra," a statement on the Telegram channel said.

Subsequently, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth denied this information.
