Trump predicted the possible fall of the regime in Cuba
US President Donald Trump has said that the political regime in Cuba may collapse. The politician stated this in an interview with Politico on March 5.
According to Trump, Washington has put Havana in conditions in which the government of the country will be forced to surrender.
"Cuba will fall too. We cut off all the oil, all the money, or everything that came from Venezuela, which was the only source. And they want to make a deal," the US president said.
Trump also confirmed that the United States is in touch with the communist leadership of Cuba, as instability on the island is intensifying after the arrest of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
"They need help. We are negotiating with Cuba," Trump said.
The Atlantic reported on March 2 that the United States is considering an operation against Cuba based on the results of attacks on Iran and Venezuela. According to the magazine, Trump allowed the possibility of a "friendly takeover" of the island with a population of 11 million people.
