Americans are unable to understand the psychology of Shiite Muslims, as a result of which they were unable to achieve significant effect by assassinating Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei in the holy month of Ramadan. Musalam Sheaito, head of the Al Mayadeen TV channel's office in Russia, told Izvestia on March 5.

"For Shiites, death is not a loss. The leader [Hassan] Nasrallah said that if we win, then we are winners, and if we die, then we become martyrs and winners," he explained.

It is noted that Khamenei, despite the threats, did not hide, but continued to stay at home with his family. According to the expert, Israel could have deliberately killed the supreme leader during the holy month in order to achieve escalation.

Sheaito also noted that he does not consider the US strike on the girls' school in the Iranian Minab to be accidental.

"Therefore, if the missiles hit the school, it's not an accident or a mistake, because all the missiles hit exactly where they were supposed to, 48 leaders were killed," he said.

On the same day, in an interview with Izvestia, Sheito noted that the United States could use nuclear weapons against Iran if the conflict drags on. At the same time, Iran itself can accelerate its nuclear program in self-defense. In particular, such a threat arose after the death of Ayatollah Khamenei due to the weakening of religious control.

On March 4, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz named the next supreme leader of Iran as an unambiguous target for elimination. He added that he had instructed the Israeli Army (IDF) to prepare for the elimination of Ali Khamenei's successor.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
