Three people were injured as a result of a plane crash into residential buildings in the United States.

In the American city of Phoenix, a light-engine plane crashed into residential buildings due to a mechanical malfunction on board. This was reported on March 4 by The New York Post (NYP).

As a result of the incident, two people on board were injured, as well as one of the residents of the houses.

"Several houses in the area were evacuated while crews to eliminate the consequences of the spill of dangerous substances eliminated the fuel leak at the scene," the publication says.

An investigation is currently underway into the causes of the crash.
