Six Russian athletes have received bilateral invitations to participate in the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina d.’Ampezzo. Three-time Paralympic champion Alexey Bugaev and two-time world champion Varvara Voronchikhina will compete in alpine skiing, while multiple world champion Ivan Golubkov and World Championship medalist Anastasia Bagiyan will participate in cross-country skiing. Dmitry Fadeev and Philippe Shebbo Monzer will start in the parasnowboard.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on January 5 that a great victory for Russian Paralympians is the opportunity to compete in major international competitions with national symbols, the flag and the national anthem.
