The Russian economy has moved to a qualitatively new growth trajectory. This was announced on March 5 by the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.

"The main thing last year was the transition of the economy to a qualitatively new growth trajectory. The government has approved a plan for structural changes in the economy, which primarily contains institutional measures," Reshetnikov said at a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Economic Development.

The Minister stressed that structural changes imply not just support for industries, but a restructuring of the economic model — a change in the structure of exports and imports, a transition to a stronger ruble exchange rate, an intersectoral flow of capital and labor, the creation of new production chains within the country and with friendly states.

According to him, the government's plan includes 68 target indicators and seven sections: employment, consumption, investment climate, technological development, foreign trade, economic whitewashing, defense and security.Special attention is paid to labor productivity growth, improving the quality of the investment climate, developing digital platforms and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

Anna Fedyunina, Deputy Director of the HSE Structural Policy Research Center, told Izvestia on February 25 that the Russian economy had managed to achieve impressive results despite turbulent changes and external pressure. She stressed that the Russian economy has achieved macroeconomic stability after a decrease in inflation. According to her, the presented results reflect future steps, including resuming the investment cycle and stimulating sustainable economic growth.
