A military expert spoke about Iran's tactics against the American F-15

The Honored military pilot of the Russian Federation, Major General Vladimir Popov, told how American F-15 fighter jets can be shot down in Iran.

In conversation with aif.ru On Thursday, March 5, the expert noted that Iran's air defense system is now well-established, but its capabilities are still insufficient to fully repel large group or massive airstrikes by the United States and its allies, including Israel.

Popov suggested that the American pilots could fly at night and did not expect an attack. In his opinion, an ambush could have been organized: radar stations on the coast of Iran from the Persian Gulf could not be turned on specifically to give the enemy the impression that he could freely enter the zone and strike.

"In fact, the Iranian side was watching the American fighter jets. Several planes could have been flying in an open battle formation, and when this group began to turn around, the outermost vehicle came under fire. That is, they received such an unexpected blow," the expert explained.

Popov drew attention to the fact that during the week the United States lost about five F-15 fighter jets. He noted that since the beginning of the mutual strikes by Iran, Israel and the United States, about five F-15 fighter jets have already been lost — almost one aircraft per day. According to him, the aircraft carrier of the American aircraft carrier group also moved 200-300 miles away from the area of the Iranian missile attacks. He added that if aviation losses continue in the coming days, this may cast doubt on the effectiveness of further coalition aviation actions against Iran.
