- ATOR has compiled a "blacklist" of hotels in Dubai after situations with tourists from the Russian Federation
On March 5, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) sent the Dubai tourism authorities a list of hotels that evicted Russian tourists or refused to check in during the crisis.
Despite the fact that most travelers were accommodated in hotels, there were cases of inappropriate behavior on the part of individual hotels towards Russians who found themselves in a difficult situation due to the suspension of flights.
"Some hotels behaved extremely incorrectly, not hospitable, evicting their guests or not settling those who came from other hotels. Let it be on their conscience. We have sent information to the Dubai tourism authorities with a complete list of such hotels," the association said in a message on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that the situation with the accommodation and departure of tourists is currently under control. Airlines and tour operators have established prompt notification of passengers about departures.
On March 2, a temporary accommodation center was set up in Dubai for tourists who were unable to leave the hotel on time. Sleeping areas were equipped for the guests. In addition, catering was organized for them — tea and snacks were offered to visitors.
On March 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to ensure the export of Russian tourists from the Middle East due to the aggravation of the situation in the region. The head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, reported that since February 28, the airspace of 10 states has been closed, and more than 250 flights connected with Russia have been canceled. At the beginning of the conflict, there were 23.5 thousand organized tourists from the Russian Federation in the region, more than 90% of them in the UAE.
