The production of cars of the new brand Jeland can be adjusted at the ex-Hyundai plant
AGR Holding has issued Vehicle Type Approvals for the new Jeland brand model. The manufacturer in the certification documents indicates AGS LLC, the former Hyundai plant in Sestroretsk, which now produces Solaris cars. This was reported on March 5 by <url> Magazine.
The ex-Hyundai plant is now considered the third site for the production of Jeland cars. Earlier, they received a "residence permit" at the plants in Kaluga (formerly Volkswagen) and Shushary (formerly owned by GM), all of which are owned by AGR Holding.
According to the publication, the OTTs are designed for the Jeland models, which are based on the Jaecoo J6 and J7 crossovers.
It became known on February 3 that production of the new Jeland brand of cars, designed specifically for the Russian Federation, will begin in Russia in the first half of 2026. The brand was developed by AGR Holding and China's Defetoo, which is their second project after the Tenet brand.
On February 26, it was announced that AGR Holding and Defetoo had completed the technical re-equipment of the production site in Shushary, formerly owned by General Motors (GM). The new site will organize the production of a full cycle of cars of the Russian brand Jeland. The plant in St. Petersburg was acquired by AGR Holding in 2024.
On February 2, Reuters reported that Hyundai Motor had not exercised the right to buy out its former manufacturing plant in Russia.
