"We went through a fairly short period when the reason for starting such actions was a test tube with a certain white powder. And today we have reached the point where we don't even need test tubes anymore, we don't even need any words," he told reporters as part of a press conference.

Shoigu refers to the events when Colin Powell, who served as US Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005, made a report at the United Nations (UN) on alleged chemical weapons manufactured by Iraq. As evidence, he showed the audience a test tube, which became the reason for the invasion of the State on the territory of the accused Arab republic.

The Secretary of the Russian Security Council said that in the future, due to the military operation launched by the Israeli-American side against Iran called "Lion's Roar", the world community will face serious consequences. This, he explained, will have an impact on the energy and food sectors.

According to Shoigu, the world is no longer dealing with "double and triple standards", but with their complete absence, which is recorded in international humanitarian organizations.

Shoigu said on the same day that Moscow was in constant contact with Tehran and considered the escalation of the conflict and the increase in civilian casualties to be categorically unacceptable. According to him, Russia is ready to play an active role in the process of peaceful settlement in the Middle East.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia, together with its partners, would do everything to help create an atmosphere that would make a military operation against Iran impossible.
