The court sentenced General Mumindzhanov for accepting a bribe
On March 5, the Voronezh Garrison Military Court sentenced Valery Mumindzhanov, Deputy Commander of the Leningrad Military District, to 10 years in prison in a bribery case.
"To sentence him to imprisonment for a term of 10 years in a high—security colony," RIA Novosti cites the verdict.
In addition, Mumindzhanov was fined a one—time amount of a bribe - 17 million 950 thousand rubles.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on receiving a particularly large bribe (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against Mumindzhanov on September 2, 2024. Later, on September 6, 2024, the Major General was charged, he pleaded not guilty. According to investigators, the Major General facilitated the conclusion of contracts for the supply of uniforms for more than 1.5 billion rubles, including to the special operation zone, and for this assistance he received a bribe worth more than 20 million rubles.
