The Sonangol Namibia tanker flying the flag of the Bahamas was damaged in an explosion near the Iraqi port of Khor ez Zubair. This was reported on March 5 by the Reuters news agency, citing a representative of the shipowner company Sonangol Marine Services.

The explosion occurred on the port side of the ship. Information about the victims and the extent of the damage has not yet been provided. The tanker belongs to the Angolan state oil company Sonangol.
