Rospotrebnadzor revealed a scheme for selling counterfeit shoes on Wildberries
Rospotrebnadzor has stopped a large-scale scheme for the sale of counterfeit shoes on the Wildberries marketplace. This was reported on March 5 in the press service of the department.
"During the day, Rospotrebnadzor identified and suppressed the activities of pseudo-production and sale of counterfeit shoes of well-known world brands on the popular marketplace. <… > During the inspection, it was possible to establish the identity of the entrepreneur, as well as to find out that his activities unfolded in the Republic of Dagestan. <... > Over 7 thousand pairs of shoes and more than 1 thousand units of light industry goods have been put into circulation since then," the website said.
As the press service of the United Wildberries&Rus Company told Izvestia, the termination of the declarations occurred only after publications in the media. They stated that before that, the seller's documents were contained in the register of the Federal Agency for Accreditation, so their legality was not questioned.
"Wildberries immediately voluntarily blocked the cards of this entrepreneur and stopped the sale of his products after the termination of the declarations of conformity for products," the company noted.
At the same time, the company reserves the right to contact law enforcement agencies to verify the circumstances of issuing declarations of conformity to this seller.
Dmitry Sidorkin, an entrepreneur, e-com specialist, and CEO of the Delivery importer company, said on January 15 that marketplace buyers are increasingly facing the risk of purchasing counterfeit goods. According to him, in certain product categories, the share of counterfeit goods on Russian online platforms can reach 30%.
