Ella Pamfilova will take part in the "Forum in the Big City"

Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova will speak at the "Forum in the Big City", which will be held on March 5 on the VK Video platform. The discussion will focus on the topic "From stereotypes to healthy competition: the transformation of the image of a female politician."

The moderator will be TV presenter Elizaveta Yakusheva. The meeting will analyze the role of women in politics using the examples of leaders from different eras and states: from Catherine II and Ekaterina Furtseva to Margaret Thatcher and Indira Gandhi.

Ella Pamfilova will share her personal experience of participating in the 2000 presidential election, when she became the first female candidate for president of Russia.

During the meeting, the participants will touch upon the impact of social media on political communication and the public agenda. Pamfilova will explain her decision not to maintain personal accounts on social networks. The speaker will talk about working in areas traditionally considered masculine, and about the professional qualities necessary for a modern politician. The CEC chairman will also give recommendations to women who plan to engage in public activities.
