Some pensioners will receive payments ahead of schedule in March.
Russians who usually receive a pension on a bank card from the 7th to the 9th of the month will receive payments earlier this time — on March 6. This was announced on March 5 by the press service of the Social Fund of Russia.
"Due to the long weekend in March, timed to coincide with the celebration of International Women's Day, some pensioners will receive payments in advance for the current month," TASS quoted the text of the message.
The fund clarified that the postponement is due to the fact that the usual payment dates fall on public holidays. Therefore, the funds will be transferred on the last business day before them.
When receiving pensions through post offices, payments can also be delivered in advance. This applies to pensioners, who usually receive funds on March 8, as there will be no delivery on that day. At the same time, payments scheduled for the 7th and 9th will be delivered according to the standard schedule.
The Social Fund added that along with the pension, other payments from the fund will be received ahead of schedule, if they are assigned to the recipient. There is no need to submit additional applications — transfers will be made automatically.
The transfer applies to all types of pension payments, including insurance, social and funded pensions, as well as old-age and disability payments. According to preliminary estimates, the early payment before the holidays will affect about 4 million Russians, the ministry said.
On March 2, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the indexation of social pensions from April 1. According to him, the increase will affect over 4 million people. Among them are people with disabilities, orphaned children, citizens who have lost their breadwinner, as well as those who do not have work experience or it is not enough to assign an insurance pension.
