The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to carry out combat missions in the Kharkov area of the special military operation zone. On March 5, the commander of a platoon of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the call sign "Mers" told Izvestia about the best drone operators in his unit, and also showed footage of the destruction of enemy equipment from the sky.

"There is constant work, constant reconnaissance, constant fire damage. The best calculations [we have] are [call signs] Mammon, Luka," the commander praised the soldiers.

Mammon is in charge of reconnaissance in the unit, while Luka controls the FPV attack drones. Before taking off on a combat mission, the soldiers inspect the equipment, including checking the battery charge. After making sure that everything is in order, the military personnel begin to launch the device.

Even in combat conditions, there is coherence and camaraderie in the positions of the Russian Armed Forces.

"We found a common language, talked about the house. The first flight — we found an [enemy] artillery installation. We put the FPV drone together, helped it fly to the target, removed the objective control of destruction," recalls the baptism of fire call sign Mamon.

At the same time, callsign Luka said that he was particularly confident that he was aware of the importance of the mission carried out by Russian fighters in the SVR zone.

"You realize that you are on your own land. You protect your land, your people. It gives you confidence and understanding of what you're doing and why," he said.

Military personnel use special underground trenches to move around unnoticed. Often, such fortifications can stretch for hundreds of meters, providing maximum stealth.

"These trenches, hundreds of meters long, are real underground cities, equipped along almost the entire front line in the Kharkiv direction and allow our troops to operate as covertly as possible," said Izvestia correspondent Emil Timashev.

On March 3, the Russian army hit airfields of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which were used to launch long-range drones. Energy and port infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine were also attacked. A day earlier, the Russian Armed Forces attacked energy facilities used in the interests of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. The Russian Armed Forces also hit drone storage sites and temporary deployment sites of the Ukrainian army in 146 districts.
