On March 5, representatives of the Kurds denied information about the alleged start of a ground offensive in Iran.
Information about the beginning of the offensive was previously transmitted by the American Fox News channel, citing its sources. It was claimed that the Kurdish forces allegedly crossed the Iran-Iraq border and launched a ground offensive.
"Sources tell Fox News that many of the fighters are Iranian Kurds who have lived in Iraq for many years and are now returning to northwest Iran as part of the offensive," the TV channel reported.
