Eleven communication collectors were updated in Moscow in 2025
In 2025, 11 communication collectors were updated in Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, March 4, by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.
According to him, timely repair and modernization of underground structures where pipelines and communication cables run can extend the period of their safe operation and ensure the safety of communications.
He specified that the work was carried out in the Central, Southwestern and Western districts, as well as in Zelenograd. Some of them included major repairs and renovation of building structures, while others included the modernization of low—current systems responsible for the life support and safety of collectors, Moscow 24 writes.
During the work, ventilation systems were also replaced and about 370 digital cameras with infrared photography were installed, allowing monitoring the situation even in complete darkness. Biryukov recalled that Moscow's collector system is a unique underground infrastructure with a length of more than 825 km, according to the Moscow City News Agency.
