In spring, the body finds itself between the desire to switch to the "spring mode" and persistent winter exhaustion, so health suffers most often, and respiratory viruses take the brunt. This was told by the neurologist, the head of "ITYMEDLABS" Ali Ismailov on Wednesday, March 4.

According to him, the end of February and March create favorable conditions for the spread of respiratory infections: temperature fluctuations, dry air, as well as a large number of people in transport, offices and schools. As a result, a person may feel better after a cold, but then the symptoms return — the temperature rises and the cough worsens, the expert noted in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Seasonal allergies also often start at this time. It can manifest as a runny nose and itchy eyes without fever. According to him, as a result, you can make a typical mistake — treat an allergy as an infection, and an infection as an allergy, RT clarifies.

Ismailov added that the nervous system becomes especially sensitive in spring. After viral diseases, post-viral asthenia may occur, accompanied by headaches, migraines, tension in the neck and shoulders, dizziness and a feeling of "fog". According to him, such symptoms are often associated with lack of sleep, stress, infections or allergies.

In addition, problems with the spine, which are commonly referred to as osteochondrosis, often worsen in the spring. Hypothermia, wind, and wet clothes can cause muscle spasms, leading to pain in the lower back, shoulder blade, or arm. The doctor stressed that during this period it is important to avoid hypothermia and protect the neck and lower back from the cold wind.

Earlier in the day, Gennady Onishchenko, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education, told NSN that after winter, it is always recommended to carry out a general cleaning in the apartment to clean all the dust from furniture and cracks, as it can provoke allergies.

Also on March 4, allergist and immunologist at the Scientific Research Clinical Institute of Childhood Alyona Bondarenko said that prolonged frosts and an abundance of snow in Russia can delay the spring bloom, but the strength and beginning of the allergy season will be determined by the spring weather, writes IA Regnum.

On March 2, allergist Vladimir Bolibok, on the eve of International Women's Day on March 8, said that not all flowers are equally safe for women. As he writes 360.ru the body's reaction may vary depending on the components of the bouquet. For example, mimosa and various types of acacia contain pollen, which can cause allergies.

On February 27, Konstantin Letts-Orletsov, a doctor, said that pollen allergy, against which a vaccine is being developed in Russia, is considered one of the most common. He noted that in addition to pollen, food products, house dust and dust mites, wool, dandruff or saliva of pets, mold spores and medicines are also common allergens.
