Israeli Consul General offered to give Trump and Netanyahu the Nobel Peace Prize
US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their military operation against Iran. This was announced on March 3 by the Consul General of Israel in New York, Ofir Akunis.
"I believe that President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. <...> I hope that President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu will receive the Nobel Peace Prize next year. They deserve it," he said in an interview with Fox News.
Speaking about this, Akunis referred to the historical events of 1978, when Anwar Sadat and Menachem Begin, who served as President of Egypt and Prime Minister of Israel, respectively, were awarded the awards. The politicians were awarded the prize for signing peace agreements.
The day before, Trump said it was "too late" to negotiate with Iran to resolve the conflict. Commenting on the course of Operation Lion's Roar, launched by his state together with Israel, he stressed that the air defense system, the Air Force, the Navy and the leadership of Iran were allegedly destroyed.
A day later, the head of the US Department of War and the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, announced a new stage of the Israeli-American military operation against Iran. He also clarified that new American forces have arrived in the Middle East, which intend to continue military operations in the region for as long as it takes to achieve success.
