Russian airlines are advised not to sell tickets to the Middle East until March 7.
Given the difficult geopolitical situation in the Middle East, Russian airlines are advised to suspend ticket sales to Middle Eastern countries until March 7. This was reported on March 4 by the Federal Air Transport Agency.
The recommendation concerns the sale of tickets for flights from Russia to the countries of the region — Iran, Iraq, Israel, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
"In order to minimize risks for passengers due to the difficult geopolitical situation in the region, the Federal Air Transport Agency recommended that Russian airlines suspend ticket sales to Middle Eastern countries until March 7," the agency's Telegram channel said.
According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, it may take up to 10 days for Russian airlines to complete the transportation of all Russians from the Middle East (up to and including March 14).
The day before, Muscovites told Izvestia that they were satisfied with the service provided by tour operators and airlines after flights were postponed due to the worsening situation in the Middle East. A plane carrying Russian tourists from Dubai landed safely at the capital's Vnukovo Airport. Starting from March 3, Aeroflot began operating outbound flights from the UAE.
On March 2, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced that Russian airlines are preparing to resume flights to the Middle East. Russian carriers, together with the agency and the Federal Air Transport Agency, have worked out alternative routes in advance for safe flights to the Persian Gulf countries, the press service said.
