The United States and Israel intend to gain full control over Iran's airspace in less than a week. This was announced on March 4 by the American Minister of War Pete Hegseth.
"Starting last night, and it will end in a few days, in less than a week, two of the most powerful air forces in the world will take control of the Iranian skies," Hegseth said. The broadcast of the press conference is available on the Pentagon website.
He also announced the arrival of a new batch of American fighter jets and bombers in the Middle East.
"More and more large-scale waves [of strikes] are coming. We're just getting started. We are accelerating, not slowing down," the minister added.
The day before, US President Donald Trump said that Iran had lost its armed forces in the air and at sea, and the country's military leadership had been destroyed. He also noted that the decision to launch an invasion of Iran belongs to the United States, not Israel.
On the same day, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahraini, said that Iran, during negotiations in Geneva, made a proposal for a nuclear deal, which was approved by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), but discussions stopped due to the military aggression of the United States and Israel.
