The Pentagon announced the arrival of new American forces in the Middle East
New US military forces are arriving in the Middle East, where they will continue the military operation launched jointly with Israel for as long as it takes to achieve success. This was announced on March 4 by Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth.
"We've only been doing this for four days. The indicators are changing, the dust is settling, and new forces are arriving. It's still very early. And as the President [of the United States Donald] said Trump, it will take us as long as it takes to succeed," he said during a press conference that was broadcast on the Pentagon's website.
Hegseth called the results achieved by the US military in the region "incredible and historic." He added that the tandem of the US Armed Forces with the "devastating capabilities" of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) marks the complete destruction of "Iranian opponents."
The New York Times newspaper reported on the same day that Iran, after the strikes on Tehran, sent an indirect signal to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States with readiness to begin negotiations on a settlement of the conflict. Trump had said a day earlier that it was "too late" for such conversations. He added that the air defense system, the Air Force, the Navy and the Iranian leadership allegedly collapsed during the operation launched by the United States and Israel.
The Iranian Tasnim news agency reported on March 4 that 1,045 civilians were killed as a result of Israeli-American attacks on Iran. They included 165 girls who died as a result of the attack on the school in Minaba. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on the day when the farewell ceremony for the murdered children took place, said that Western human rights organizations remain silent about this.
