Putin instructed the Interior Ministry to respond harshly to corruption
Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to respond harshly to corruption and fight it. He stated this on March 4 at an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The Head of State stressed the need to consistently identify crimes, including in the military-industrial complex and other sectors of strategic importance for the security and sovereignty of the country.
"As for national jurisdiction, it is necessary to improve both the quality and prestige of national jurisdiction. And of course, as before, we should respond harshly to corruption in any form," Putin said.
The head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, announced on March 3 that the punishment for corruption crimes should be the confiscation of all property of convicts. According to him, such a measure has long been expected by society and will provide significant revenues to the treasury.
