Nuclear deterrence continues to play a crucial role in ensuring global stability. This was announced on March 4 by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, during a briefing.
"Indeed, nuclear deterrence remains the cornerstone of global security. This is very important," he stressed.
Peskov urged not to forget about nuclear deterrence and noted that negotiations in this area should be conducted, including with European countries that have nuclear arsenals.
On February 25, Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the upper house of Parliament, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation called on Germany to conduct a parliamentary investigation into the alleged transfer of nuclear weapons to Ukraine. Kosachev recalled that Germany is a nuclear-weapon-free state and the participation of this country in the transfer of nuclear weapons to Kiev indicates that Germany could act as a sponsor, organizer or transfer link.
On February 24, the press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) announced plans by London and Paris to secretly transfer nuclear weapons to Kiev. After that, the Federation Council called on the French and British sides to conduct parliamentary investigations. Chairman Valentina Matvienko stressed that Ukraine's status as a nuclear-weapon-free state is not subject to revision.
