A 32-year-old man has been detained in St. Petersburg, suspected of helping militants of the Ukrainian terrorist organization Legion Freedom of Russia (an organization banned in Russia) and filming military-industrial complex (MIC) facilities. This was reported to TASS on March 4 by law enforcement agencies.

"The man contacted representatives of Ukraine on his own initiative in June last year, offering assistance in conducting reconnaissance," the agency's source said.

He clarified that for several months, the suspect, on the instructions of the curator, photographed military enterprises, scientific centers and industrial infrastructure facilities in St. Petersburg, after which he sent the pictures to the terrorists.

During the arrest, a search was conducted, during which several packages of narcotic substances were found in the man's possession. A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under articles on participation in a terrorist organization and attempted drug trafficking. In addition, the possibility of initiating a case of high treason is being considered, a law enforcement source said.

On the same day, the FSB's Public Relations Center announced the detention of an accomplice of the Ukrainian special services in Crimea. It was noted that the defendant established contact through the Telegram messenger with an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
