The latest Yelka interceptor drone, equipped with artificial intelligence (AI), is capable of detecting targets invisible to the human eye, and is successfully used in the combat zone to protect border territories. This was announced on March 4 by a serviceman of the Air defense forces (Air defense) with the call sign Morok.

"My call sign is Morok, I serve in the air defense forces. I have a Christmas Tree interceptor in my hands, it recognizes the target's signature on its own and calculates the target's trajectory. After launching, it independently chooses the best route to hit the target. It works both in pursuit and in the flank, also on a collision course," the soldier told TASS.

According to him, the Yelka is capable of hitting a wide range of targets, which include FPV drones, reconnaissance drones and aircraft-type attack drones.

"The Fir Tree product surpasses fire damage and shot damage due to the fact that the product's range of operation is 3 km. What the human eye does not see, the "Christmas tree" will see. Currently, constant work is underway to improve the accuracy of the "Fir Tree" hitting the target, striking ability and maneuverability," Morok added.

The complex is designed and manufactured in Moscow. It does not contain a warhead, hitting targets with a kinetic strike.

On February 26, the Popular Front announced that tests of the new Sibiryachok-5 reconnaissance drone, which was presented by Russian inventors with the support of the Kulibin Club, had begun in the area of the special military operation. The drone consists of 95% domestic components, including its own boards and motors. Its own electronics production has made the drone cheaper and allowed the company not to depend on Western sanctions. Serial production of the UAV is scheduled for 2026.
