Gifts for gender holidays remain a common item of expenditure for Russians. According to a study by the ORMATEK brand, about 80% of respondents continue to buy gifts for such dates. At the same time, more than 60% of respondents fit into the budget of up to 5 thousand rubles. The research data was reviewed on March 6 by Izvestia.

According to the results of the study, every fifth Russian spends up to 15,000 rubles on gifts, and 8% are willing to spend up to 50,000 rubles on them. At the same time, about 10% of the survey participants admitted that, in principle, they refused additional expenses on holidays.

Most often, gifts are received by the closest people. So, 72% of respondents give them to a partner or a loved one, 70% to relatives, almost a quarter to friends, and about 10% to colleagues or fellow students. Only 4% of the respondents believe that such gifts are optional.

At the same time, some Russians limit themselves to symbolic signs of attention. About 8% of the study participants make small gifts, and the same number have stopped giving gifts, although they used to adhere to this tradition. 2% of respondents admitted that they give gifts only in return or do not buy them at all.

Practical gifts remain the most in demand. Household goods such as textiles, decor and aromatic accessories are chosen by 54% of the respondents. About a third of respondents prefer perfumes and cosmetics, while 30% prefer sweets. About a quarter of the study participants give clothes, shoes and accessories, 14% give money, and 12% give gift certificates and equipment. Another 8% of Russians prefer to make gifts with their own hands.

Experts also note the growth of a rational approach to the selection of gifts. So, 62% of Russians believe that a gift should be useful, and almost half are guided by the wish list of loved ones. At the same time, 26% prefer to make surprises, while 6% focus primarily on discounts and promotions.

Moderate interest remains in health products. About 6% of the respondents consider massage devices, dietary supplements or sleep products as gifts. In general, the attitude towards such gifts is positive: 58% consider mattresses, pillows and bed linen to be a manifestation of care, however, 32% consider them appropriate only for loved ones.

"A rational approach to choosing gifts is becoming more noticeable: it is important that the product is used daily and it brings real benefits. When choosing sleeping accessories, it is worth considering the usual sleeping position: those who sleep on their side need a higher and more dense pillow than those who prefer to sleep on their back," ORMATEK experts noted.

According to the study, about 40% of respondents believe that gifts have become more thoughtful and useful in recent years. Another 32% note a reduction in the budget for such purchases, and almost a quarter pays more attention to comfort and health. At the same time, every sixth respondent believes that emotions are gradually becoming more important than the cost of a gift.

The survey results show that for many Russians, holiday gifts are becoming not so much a formality as a way to show attention and care for loved ones. Practicality and convenience are gradually coming to the fore when choosing presents.

On March 5, SOKOLOV's category director Taisiya Iznova told Izvestia what to look for when choosing a gift for March 8. Chains remain one of the safest solutions. Neat models of medium thickness without complicated decorative elements are on trend. They work as a base: they can be worn on their own or combined with a pendant. If a woman prefers layering, the chains can be easily combined with each other and allow you to create a more expressive image.
