On March 4, Russian Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin rose to 16th place in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL) in terms of the number of matches played.

In the match against the Utah Mammoth, Ovechkin took part in the 1554th game of the NHL regular season. With this indicator, he caught up with Canadian hockey player Jerome Iginla, sharing the 16th place in the ranking with him, Sport-Express notes.
