After the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, Japan was overtaken by the "reckoning" for sanctions against Russia amid rising energy prices. This was reported on March 3 by the Chinese edition of Baijiahao.

"Iran fired a bullet, closing the Strait of Hormuz, and it landed in Tokyo's fuel tanks, located thousands of kilometers from the Middle East <...> The thick smoke over the Persian Gulf had not yet cleared when gasoline prices at Tokyo gas stations began to jump sharply, like a broken stopwatch," the ABN24 news agency quoted Chinese journalists as saying.
