The abolition of the Unified State Exam (USE) may lead to the revival of paid preparatory courses at universities and the practice of admission "by phone." This statement was made on March 4 by the Minister of Education of Russia (1998-2004), President of the Rudn University, one of the creators of the Unified State Exam, Vladimir Filippov.

"Speaking of the abolition of the Unified State Exam, for some reason no one tells the population what to prepare for... It is necessary to prepare to take paid preparatory courses at a particular university or to get to private tutors from this university. It should be understood that a significant part of the places for scarce specialties will be occupied by calls from the authorities," he told RIA Novosti.
