On March 3, Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM), announced the destruction of 7 Iranian ships, including a submarine.

"To date, we have destroyed 17 Iranian ships, including the most serviceable submarine, which now has a hole in its hull," a video recording of his statement was posted on the command's Facebook page.
